broschuereThe Women's Liberation Movement (FBB) predated the 1968 student movements. It was engaged in working for suffrage for women and questioned the fundamental social, economic and political situation for women in Switzerland. Until 1979, there was a national coordinating office. Within this, there were regional groups. The Zurich group, in particular, was noticed through some spectacular activities. There were also groups in Berne, Fribourg, Biel, Lausanne, Geneva and other towns, which partly worked together. However, the groups were very mixed. Important issues included women's equality both in work and education as well as privately. The FBB also worked for the peace movement, particularly the fight against the integration of women in the army and a woman's supreme right over her body. The FBB was especially active in the 70s.
